Big Points, Big Praise + Our S.R.B.

Big points. Big praise.

Normally we at Ricci Vineyards aren’t much into chasing wine scores. Our philosophy is simple: a good wine is one that you enjoy. That being said, it’s nice to get a little vindication from an outsider’s perspective on occasion. When the staff at James Suckling — one of the most revered wine critics in the world — offered to score some of our wines we jumped at the chance. Feeling confident, but ultimately unsure of how things would shake out, we were flattered with the response. All 4 wines we submitted received a 90-point score and above. Not too shabby for our first wine ratings ever! The breakdown is below:

• 2024 Carneros Chardonnay — 90 points

• 2024 Los Carneros Pinot Noir — 91 points

• 2024 Pommard Clone Pinot Noir — 92 points

• 2024 Los Carneros Chardonnay — 93 points

Some of these offerings are readily available in our online store, while some aren’t. If you are interested in purchasing any of these 90+ point wines, use the links above or email us below. Cheers to the remaining days in Summer!

Unveiling Our S.R.B.

Wine label featuring a white daisy

ou might be asking, “what is S.R.B.”? Well, the acronym itself stands for Summer Red Blend — yet our S.R.B. means a whole lot more than that. It is an ode to the sun gods that saturate our days with long-lasting light and radiant heat. It is an excuse to get outside and soak up the last of the warm weather vibes before things fade to Autumn. In the most literal sense, it is a red wine blend intended to be fun and carefree; much like Summer itself.

This vibrant, cranberry-hued blend is a delightfully unique creation that brings a little bit of light-bodied, refreshing magic to your glass. It beautifully blurs the lines between a crisp rosé, a playful Beaujolais Nouveau, and Pinot Noir. However, we strive to put less emphasis on trying to define exactly what it is, and more on embracing how wonderfully it pairs with the sun rays on your face and great company.

Intended for our existing members, we only produced 30 magnums — so embrace this S.R.B. while you can.

Ricci Vineyards Rosé of Pinot Noir

Remnants of an Old Windmill

The image above, which can be found on the label for our Rosé of Pinot Noir, is the last remaining vestige of a windmill that existed on the property long before it ever became a vineyard. Perhaps more precisely, this was part of a wind pump that drew water from an underground well and fed it into a stock trough for grazing cattle. Although the cattle have long been removed, and the physical relics of a livelihood that existed prior to the vineyard slowly fade to dust, this tower is an unrelenting reminder of our family’s legacy; first as ranchers, now as farmers, and forever patrons to the land.
